Calendar Subsystem Principles
-
1. Per-User Processing Boundaries:
The processing calendar is maintained individually per user (e.g., Logon User Maintenance), isolating posting scopes across departments. -
2. Flexible Period Bounds:
Both a custom start date and end date may be entered, or a full financial year option can be selected. -
3. Overlap Constraints:
The active range cannot overlap other year ends for the target entity hierarchy. -
4. Control Panel Validation:
The Control Panel validates entries against calendar records; transactions are permitted only within active, valid calendar dates. -
5. Zero Procedure Overhead:
There are no month-end or year-end closing routines required. Simply ensure a valid calendar record exists for the period.
